Survivor: Galaxy's Edge is the second season of Survivor and the second installment on The Retirement Home Series.

Production

The name and logo for the season was released on September 14th during the live finale of Survivor: Extinction Island. Ryan Teddy, Jessica Wizard, and Katie Cole returned to host this season.

Applications for this season were released on September 16, 2020. This season was hosted on Discord & Tumblr. Ryan Teddy hosted this season with Katie Cole and Jessica Wizard. The Tumblr Blog is Survivor: Galaxy's Edge and the tag is #ToInfinityAndSurvive

Twists

Tribe Composition: The cast was divided into three tribes of six.
Oxygen Tank: Players needed to collect Oxygen for their tribe since they are in...you know...space. They amount of Oxygen they needed to collect is related to the number of tribe members they have. Failure to collect enough oxygen in the round would result in the tribe receiving a disadvantage in the next round.
Fuel Tank: Similar the Oxygen Tank, players were able to collect Fuel Tanks every two hours. These however, benefit the individual and collecting three tanks allows players to go on a reward adventure.
Cargo Hold: The first Immunity Challenge of the season gave every player 8 different advantages. By giving them up they earned points for their tribe to win Immunity. Each advantage also had a penalty for keeping it. The Trian Tribe lost.
- Oxygen Tank 🛢️: For the rest of the season any tribe you are on needs to collect one less oxygen tank than originally needed. The only two players to take this advantage were Ari Stripey and Silver Austin.
- Rocket Ship Trip 🚀: This rocket ship trip will give you the opportunity to earn safety without power at any Tribal Council you attend until the stela. By using this power you will not attend Tribal Council if your tribe loses, but you will also not vote.
  - This item was used by Silver Austin during Galaxy's Edge Ep. 1 to avoid attending Tribal Council.
  - This item was used by Zach Decuir during Galaxy's Edge Ep. 6 to avoid attending Tribal Council.
- Extra Vote 📜: The extra vote can be used at any Tribal Council you attend until there are only 5 players left in the game.
  - This item was used by Silver Austin during the Galaxy's Edge Ep. 2 Tribal Council.
- Sharp Space Rock 🗿: When used on another player at Tribal Council this rock will slash another player’s vote. They will not vote at that Tribal Council or during a revote. This item expires when there are only 6 players left in the game.
  - This item was used by Silver Austin during the Galaxy's Edge Ep. 2 Tribal Council to slash MJ Dawson's vote.
  - This item was used by Nathan Goodwin during the Galaxy's Edge Ep. 8 Tribal Council to slash Jonathan Oliveira's vote.
Double Tribal Council: In Galaxy's Edge Ep. 6 all three tribes competed for Immunity. Only the Trian Tribe won sending both the Andro and Circi tribes to tribal council.
Combined Tribal Council: The two tribes who lost the Immunity Challenge in Galaxy's Edge Ep. 7 were both sent to Tribal Council as a group, but unlike a standard Double Tribal Council, they would vote as a group and only one person was voted out.
Hidden Immunity Idol: When played this item negates any votes cast for the person it is played at during Tribal Council.
- During the Galaxy's Edge Ep. 9 Tribal Council Nathan Goodwin played an idol on himself and negated 4 votes sending Jules Weisman out of the game.
- During the Extinction Island Ep. 12 Tribal Council Jonathan Oliveira played his idol and negated 1 vote against him, and Zach Decuir played his idol but received no votes against him.
Legacy Advantage: A legacy advantage was hidden in the link of every Tribal Council video. The advantage allowed the finalist with the power to meet privately with a juror before the Final Tribal Jury Questioning. Jonathan Oliveira used the advantage to meet with MJ Dawson.
- The order of the advantage was MJ Dawson -> Jules Weisman -> Asya Noelle -> Cindi Kepic -> Jonathan Oliveira.

Edgic & Boxscores

Edgic is a portmanteau that combines the words Editing and Logic. It is a concept that was originally devised by the good folks on the Survivor Sucks forums to try and determine the winner of each Survivor season based on the edit. Edgic assigns a rating to each player per episode based on their portrayal, the percentage of screen-time, and other varying factors. While Edgic was created to determine the winner, it is also a useful tool for mapping a character’s objective story arc throughout the season.
